Summer Reading Begins

DeWitt Public Library page, Nick Luciano and guest The Click-it Cricket, enthusiastically greeted kids during the kick-off  of “Catch the Reading Bug” summer reading program.  Each year children and their parents are invited to celebrate the beginning of summer reading with a traditional chalking of the library sidewalks.  This year’s festivities brought out over 100 area kids and their parents during the afternoon heat on Wednesday, June 11th.   To keep participants cool and hydrated, water bottles were supplied by Dr. Faust and Dr. Grubaugh.  The Click-it Cricket, coloring books and stickers were supplied by the Michigan Office of Highway Safety and Planning.
